Barry Fleishman joined Dickstein Shapiro LLP in 1996, and is a partner in the Firm’s Insurance Coverage Practice. Mr. Fleishman focuses on complex policyholder insurance coverage, and products liability. He represents major corporations seeking insurance coverage with respect to liabilities and losses incurred as the result of property damage, defective or misused products, natural disasters (including hurricanes), fires and explosions, environmental damage, discrimination allegations, directors’ and officers’ activities, and terrorist attacks. In addition to litigating insurance coverage cases, he provides general counsel on insurance-related matters. Representative companies for which he is providing, or has provided, national insurance coverage counsel include A.M. Todd, Inc.; AT&T; Archstone-Smith Operating Trust; Cantor Fitzgerald; Formosa Plastics Corporation, U.S.A.; Merck & Co.; Mills Corporation; Northrop Grumman Corporation; Carnival Corporation; and the Royal Bank of Canada.
Mr. Fleishman currently serves as chair of the Firm’s Pro Bono Committee, and has represented clients on constitutional issues involving privacy rights and illegal searches in schools.
